Saturday July 17 Membership meeting - Speaker: Jim Spee -
Jim Spee, a longtime member of EAA and VAA will speak
at our July General Meeting about aircraft restoration and
Aeroncas in particular. He is the owner of an Aeronca
Champion and has a background in mechanical and
aeronautical engineering and business management. He is a
volunteer at Wathen Aviation Charter High School at
historic Flabob Airport in Rubidoux, CA. He is also
knowledgeable on document preservation including
blueprints and engineering reports from 1930s Aeroncas
such as model K, KM and pre-war Chiefs. With a doctorate
in management, he is an Associate Professor of Strategy,
Decision Making and Leadership at the University of
Redlands School of Business. Come prepared for a
stimulating and interesting presentation and be ready with
your questions.
Saturday August 21 Membership meeting and Canard Fly-in - weight & balance available for fly-in canard aircraft, free lunch to fly-in canard pilots. Speaker: Chuck Busch, President, Trio Avionics -
Chuck has a wide background in guidance systems, having worked extensively with the Trident missile program and airline guidance and auto-land systems.
Trio Avionics designs and manufactures autopilot products engineered for outstanding performance, while keeping them attractively priced for the Experimental, LSA and Warbird aircraft market. Innovative design and the use of modern solid state sensors provides superior navigation capability at a price that was not possible until now. Saturday September 18 Membership meeting - will feature Dick Johnson of Champion Aerospace.
Saturday October 16 Membership meeting and EAA CHAPTER 14's FLY-IN, DRIVE-IN, WALK-IN, BEAM-IN AND CAMP OUT OCTOBER 16 & 17. For a most nominal charge we will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. We will have an entertaining speaker on Saturday and Saturday night will feature music, movies, including a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Stay the weekend, you are invited to camp out at the airport (please, no open fires, flashlights or beacons pointing up into the sky). Saturday morning Speaker: "John, the model airplane guy" - Model airplane talk and demonstration (will not include flying; FAA will not allow flight of model aircraft on the field.)
